New York City-based street artist Hanksy recently hit the streets of Los Angeles and created a new series of pun-filled pop culture street art to promote his upcoming solo art show at Gallery1988 Melrose, which opens on Friday, May 24, 2013. His prep work did not come without a price though. While putting up “Weird Gal Yankovic” on the corner of Melrose and La Brea Avenue, he was nabbed by the cops and put in handcuffs. We have previously written about Hanksy and his entertaining works of art.
