In late 2011, artists Mark Rosen and Wendy Marvel created Mechanical Flipbooks, motorized flip books that display vintage motion picture animations by film pioneer Eadweard Muybridge (video). After the flip books generated quite a lot of interest at Maker Faire 2012, Rosen and Marvel teamed up with inventor Steven Goldstein to develop FlipBooKit, a do-it-yourself mechanical flip book kit. They are raising funds for the project on Kickstarter.
