crt mgn, Art Installation That Makes Magnetic Fields Visible

“crt mgn” by German artist Carsten Nicolai is a mesmerizing art installation that visualizes magnetic fields on television screens. The installation consists of two powerful magnets on pendulums that swing over two televisions. The magnets distort the pictures on the television screens whenever they swing near them. To see the installation in action, watch this short documentary by The Creators Project. “crt mgn” is on display at Eigen+Art gallery in Berlin through May 18, 2013.
