Conan O’ Brien Officiates First Ever Late Night TV Same-Sex Wedding

Conan O’Brien, host of the late-night television show Conan, officiated the same-sex wedding of the show’s costume designer Scott Cronick and his partner, David Gorshein on air. The show spent an entire week filming at the Beacon Theater in New York City specifically to make this legally binding wedding happen. Conan normally films in California where it is currently not legal for same sex couples to wed.

The announcement from Conan includes a very funny segment on the media’s reaction to it, specifically for using very similar variations on the phrase “Conan O’ Brien may be about to push the envelope on late-night television…” Check out the mashup video that was created of various newscasters saying it in unison:
