Coathangers, David Mach’s Large-Scale Wire Hanger Sculptures

For his large-scale Coathangers sculptures, Scottish born artist David Mach uses wire coat hangers to bulk up the form underneath. There are several Coathanger animals in the series including a bear and a gorilla, as well as human forms and even the head of Mickey Mouse. We recently featured Mach’s Matcheads, his beautiful matchstick sculptures.
