Bird Steals Camera Camouflaged in a Fake Egg and Records Aerial Footage With It

A striated caracara (a bird of prey) snatches a camouflaged “egg cam” and carries it aloft in this clip from the hidden camera nature documentary series Penguins – Spy in the Huddle. While flying with the camera, the bird unwittingly records aerial footage of a vast penguin colony below. According to the filmmakers the clip contains “the first ever aerial footage of a rockhopper penguin colony shot by a flying bird.” The documentary series was produced by John Downer Productions for Discovery and the BBC.
