32 Bit Party at SXSW Interactive 2009

Announcing 32 Bit, a SXSW Interactive 2009 party on Monday, March 16th that I’m co-organizing with Lane Becker of Get Satisfaction. This event is the follow-up to last year’s 16 Bit party and 2007’s 8 Bit party.

In order to keep things from getting too big, we are initially keeping some party details a secret and will be releasing them only through our 32 Bit Twitter account. So be sure to follow for more info as we get closer to the event.

32 Bit is sponsored by Automattic, Get Satisfaction, Gowalla, Laughing Squid, Lullabot, Plinky, ShoutNow, Sticker Giant, Zynga and 30 Boxes.

Our wonderful 32 Bit illustration was created by Hugh D’Andrade, using a public domain photo of a PDP-12 by Bjarni Juliusson.

Note that the PDP-12 used in the illustration is a 12 bit machine.

Hi guys! I just stumbled upon the PDP-12 illustration above, and I have to say it’s beautiful and I’m happy I took that photo. Whatever it is you do at these parties, I’m all for it! I also want to thank you for giving me credit; it made me proud. :)
