Don & Tracy's Pirate Ship Halloween Party

For the last 7 years my friends Don and Tracy have been creating amazing Halloween displays in the front yard of their Richmond, CA home. This year they took things to a whole new level by creating a 26’ pirate ship, complete with a functioning gun powder cannon. Hundreds Trick-or-Treaters lined up throughout the night to board the ship, gather their bounty and then exit by walking the plank (a slide at the front of the ship).

The whole setup was amazing, with intricate details like Cloe’s fantastic mermaid mural on the back of the ship and a trap door in deck where a pirate would occasionally pop out and scare the crap out of an unsuspecting child. Needless to say, I shot a ton of photos of the wonderful scene.

Old man Chicken John was there with his “Applause” bus, Dan and Karen showed up with 3 buses full of Halloween revelers and I arrived with the British Royal Navy caravan that attempted to seize control of the rogue pirate ship with a full on attack complete with Roman candles and mini mortars.

I can’t wait to see how they top this one next year. Don and Tracy are the king and queen of Halloween! Bravo.

UPDATE: Here are a few pre-Halloween setup photos from David and Simone’s house.
