Brooklyn-based music blog Hype Machine asked a slew of musicians, writers, and other influential folks to choose their favorite record of 2014 tailored to different moments. The list ranges from the perfect album to “Being nice to your friends” (Run the Jewels 2 by Run the Jewels) to “Getting Into Classic Rock Without Actually Having to Listen to Classic Rock” (Lost in the Dream by The War on Drugs).
