Back in February, I posted about installing Mac OS X on a PC, well the exact opposite, Microsoft Windows on Apple Mac, is now officially being supported by Apple with the launch of Boot Camp. This new beta software allows you to install a licensed copy of Windows XP on an Intel Mac, so that you can dual-boot both Mac OS X and Windows XP (Windows Vista will be supported as well). Boot Camp will be included with the next Apple OS X release 10.5 (Leopard).
Boot Camp allows users with a Microsoft Windows XP installation disc to install Windows XP on an Intel-based Mac, and once the installation is complete, users can restart their computer to run either Mac OS X or Windows XP. Boot Camp will be a feature in “Leopard”, Apple’s next major release of Mac OS X, that will be previewed at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference in August.
Of course the InterWeb has been buzzing about this news for the last 24 hours.
