Why Cats Always Land on Their Feet

Caracal in the Air

A preview of the BBC show “Life in the Air” captured the amazing sight of an African caracal twisting and turning in the air in slow-motion, ensuring that she would land on her feet. This is due to a flexible spine, something present in all cats, domestic or wild, explaining why cats always land on their feet.

All cats have a remarkable design, a flexible spine which allows them to rotate their front and back ends in different directions at the same time.
