“Why Aliens Probably Exist” is an animation by New Scientist about the possibility of alien life elsewhere in the galaxy based on the article “How to think about… Alien contact” by Douglas Heaven. The animation explains that the Milky Way‘s 13.2 billion-year age would be more than enough time for a technologically advanced civilization to spread out across the galaxy. That means we should see signs of alien life everywhere, but the video also explains that alien life might not look like anything we can imagine, concluding that there may be alien life throughout the galaxy, but we just don’t recognize it as life.
First, try not to think about what alien life might be like. Then wonder whether we have any chance of finding it.
