What if Daniel LaRusso Was the Real Bully in ‘The Karate Kid’, Not Johnny Lawrence?

Daniel is granted unnatural strength by the demon sorcerer Miyagi.

New York City-based director, videographer, and editor Jim Turner (a.k.a. “J. Matthew Turner“) recently analyzed the 1984 film, The Karate Kid, and came to the conclusion that Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) was the true bully throughout the movie. To Jim, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) was portrayed as a teen who was merely trying to stay on the right path while Daniel, the new kid on the block and violent sociopath, continuously tried to pick fights with him and his friends.
