Wet Dog, An Imaginative Photo Series Showing What Dogs Look Like During the Grooming Process

Wet Dog is an imaginative photo series by French photographer Sophie Gamand, made in collaboration with pet stylist Ruben Santana, that captures how a dog’s personality appears to change with the introduction of water during the grooming process. The results are absolutely striking.

Wet Dog is a series on dogs being washed during their grooming sessions. The way the water plays with their hair in a very painterly manner, and their facial expressions as the water is poured on them creates striking portraits that resemble famous humans or important characters. The dogs become timeless sculptures. Wet Dog is part of a project about grooming and the way we alter our dogs’ appearance to fit standards of hygiene and beauty.
