Undone, A Stop-Motion Animated Allegory for Alzheimer’s Disease

“Undone” by Hayley Morris is a beautiful stop motion animation in which an old man fishes objects out of the sea, only to lose them. The animation is meant to represent the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and is inspired by Morris’ grandfather. Morris created the animation with textured materials and textiles (the sea is made of fabric) as well as personal imagery. For more on Morris, see our post on “Under The Sea,” a short documentary about the animator.
