This American Life and filmmaker Bianca Giaever are collaborating on Videos 4 U, a new video series in which Giaever finds people who have something they need to say to someone, and helps them say it with a video. In the almost impossibly adorable inaugural video, Giaever takes on the curious case of Maia and Alex, a New York City couple who–despite dating for eight years–have never said “I love you” to one another. The video very amusingly outlines the predicament and ends with Maia saying “I love you, Alex.”
In an apparent effort to amp up the adorableness to a potentially lethal level, This American Life has also posted a reaction video, in which the couple are shown watching Maia’s video for the first time.
