Setting aside superstition over broken mirrors and bad luck, the Slow Mo Guys, Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy, threw a hammer through a large mirror and filmed it at 120,000 fps. At that speed the camera was able to capture a shock wave moving through the glass even before it started to shatter.
