The Roc Carrier Plane for Paul Allen’s Space Venture Stratolaunch Systems Is Set to Become the Largest Aircraft Ever

The Roc

Stratolaunch Systems, the space transport company created by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, has debuted the Roc, a giant carrier plane currently being built in Mojave, California, that is set to become the largest aircraft ever made with a wingspan measuring 385 feet–65 feet longer than the infamous Spruce Goose built by Howard Hughes. Flight testing on the 28-wheeled vehicle, named for a mythic bird of prey, will begin this year with launch operations scheduled to start in 2018.
