The Rescued Film Project Develops Never-Before-Seen Rolls of Film From an American Soldier in World War II

The Rescued Film Project

Photographer Levi Bettweiser of the Rescued Film Project develops never-before-seen film taken from all over the world. He recently had the opportunity to print photos from 31 rolls of film all taken by the same American soldier during the World War II.

Bettweiser has the ability to develop any type of film, though he focuses on film from the 1930s to the late 1990s. Amazingly, he does all of this from his home. He receives donations of undeveloped film from all over the world. The developed images are posted on the Rescued Film Project website and on Instagram.

Filmmaker Tucker Debevec created a fascinating short documentary about how Bettweiser developed the film from the World War II era.
