Variety reports that the classic 1987 comedy fantasy film The Princess Bride is being developed into a stage production by Disney Theatrical Productions. Disney has not yet decided whether the stage adaptation will take the form of a play or musical—an earlier attempt at a musical was canceled in 2007 due to a rights dispute. No premiere date has been set. Back in 2005, The Princess Bride staged as a play at The Darkroom in San Francisco.
