The Lively Morgue is The New York Times’ newly launched photo archive tumblr. Each week, the site will feature several photos from the Times newsroom archive, known internally as “the morgue”. The reverse side of the photos, often containing captions, notes from the photographer, and other historical tidbits, will be posted with each image. The New York Times photo archive contains an estimated 10 million images.
