The Incredibly Complex Innards of Mechanical Calculators

Mechanical calculators are opened to reveal their incredibly complex analog innards in a fascinating photo series by photographer Kevin Twomey. The calculators in the series, most of which are from the 1960s, are part of the collection of engineer Mark Glusker. Glusker has amassed about 100 machines since starting his collection in 1995. Wired has more on the photos and the collection.
