For a fascinating VSCO feature, New York City artist Brea Souders photographed iconic American street vendor food such as a slice of pizza, an ice cream cone and a soft pretzel under a radiometric thermal camera, which revealed the amount of radiation each food emitted through a range of bright colors.

As an object’s temperature increases, so does the amount of radiation it emits. This special camera uses state-of-the-art technology to detect infrared radiation, thereby displaying differing levels of heat in various colors and creating images reminiscent of pop art.
