The AVERT, A Multi-Robot System That Can Lift and Transport Cars in an Emergency

The Autonomous Vehicle Emergency Recovery Tool (AVERT) is a multi-robot system capable of lifting and transporting cars in an emergency. Whether the vehicle is simply blocking traffic or poses a potential security threat, the AVERT system can be deployed to easily and quickly relocate a vehicle to a safer location.

The AVERT system is described in a paper written by its creators at the Group of Robotics and Cognitive Systems, and it is scheduled to be presented at the 2015 International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Seattle, Washington. The system could go into production some time in early 2016.
