Bill Smith beautifully edited an episode of the talk show Dr. Phil to remove all dialogue among the participants. In the episode, a family confronts their daughter regarding her relationship with a controlling man. Without distracting, over-the-top dialogue, the show becomes immeasurably more upsetting and powerful.
Smith also recently gave the court show Judge Judy the same treatment, with similar results.
