Spirit Aficionados to Bring Their ‘Caged Heat Cocktail Syrup’ to Market

Spirit aficionados Jared Hirsch and Jennifer “Absinthia” Baum have created together a sweetly spicy small-batch concoction called Caged Heat Cocktail Syrup and are currently raising funds through Kickstarter to expand their market. The duo originally debuted the syrup in 2012 during the release of St. George Spirit’s Breaking and Entering Bourbon and around the San Francisco Bay Area in such places as Sidebar and Southside Spirit House, to very favorable reviews.

A concoction of tamarind, cardamom, ghost pepper, and cane sugar, Caged Heat is warmly spicy. It makes a statement, but it isn’t overwhelming. It’s caged, get it? …Since so many of our customers have been asking where they can buy bottles to take home, we decided the time was right to grow and expand. In order to do that, we need to move from the small kitchen at Sidebar into a larger commercial kitchen. We need your help to make the syrup available for you, the craft cocktail enthusiast. We need your help getting Caged Heat into your home!
