SpaceX Unveils the Dragon V2 Spacecraft Designed to Carry Seven Astronauts to Orbit & Then Soft-Land Back on Earth

SpaceX has unveiled the Dragon V2, an update to their original Dragon spacecraft that’s designed to carry seven astronauts to Earth orbit. One of the major features of the spacecraft is the ability to do a soft landing propulsively anywhere on land. The original Dragon capsule landed in water via parachute much like many previous capsules.

The Dragon V2 was unveiled by SpaceX co-founder Elon Musk at an event on May 29th at the company’s design and manufacturing facility in Hawthorne, California.
