‘Shanks FX’ Recreates the Millennium Falcon Scene From ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Using Stop-Motion Animation

On a recent episode of Shanks FX (previously), a web series by Joey Shanks and produced by PBS Digital Studios, the talented Mr. Shanks recreated the intense Millennium Falcon scene from the first teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens using stop-motion animation and toy spaceships.

The new trailer to “The Force Awakens” inspired me to wrangle up all my ‘Star Wars’ spaceships and have a little fun animating them. The Millennium Falcon we used is from the X-Wing Miniatures Game. The ships are really great for stop-motion because they are light weight and also have an incredibly amount of detail on them. The large Tie Fighter seen in the video I purchased at a thrift shop for $3!
