‘Set in the Street’, Cleverly Staged Photos of Interiors That Are Actually Shot on the Street

In the wonderfully clever photo series Set in the Street, people are posed in what appear to be bathrooms, dining rooms, and other interiors. But when the full photograph is viewed, the room turns out to be a thoroughly convincing set installed on a city street. The series was created by photographer Justin Bettman in collaboration with prop stylist Gozde Eker. The duo scour the streets (primarily of New York City) for both locations and discarded furniture and materials for their sets. After the staged photo shoot, they leave the sets up for passersby to pose in.
