Seattle Dog Rides the Bus to the Dog Park Every Day Exiting at the Correct Stop All by Herself

A very intelligent black Lab named Eclipse, who lives in Seattle, rides the bus a couple of times a week by herself in order go the dog park. She simply boards the bus in front of her home, rides for a few stops and then gets off in front of the park, where she sometimes meets her human Jeff Young. Young told KOMO News that Eclipse’s solo trips came about accidentally when he didn’t finish his cigarette in time to board the bus.

We get separated. She gets on the bus without me, and I catch up with her at the dog park. …It’s not hard to get on. She gets on in front of her house and she gets off at the dog park, three or four stops later. She’s been here the last two years, so she’s been urbanized, totally. She’s a bus-riding, sidewalk-walking dog. …Probably once a week I get a phone call. ‘Hi. I have your dog Eclipse here on 3rd and Bell. …I have to tell them, ‘no. She’s fine.’ She knows what she’s doing.
