Photographer Captures the Rare and Incredible Sight of a Humpback Whale Leaping Entirely Out of Water

Leaping Humpback Whale

While out searching for sardines off the coast of Pondoland in the Eastern Cape province, South Africa., diver and photographer Chris Capeheart captured the wonderful sight of leaping humpback whales. One 40 ton female who was traveling with her calf, however, exerted so much force that she removed her body from the entirely from the water and floated in mid-air for a split second before splashing back into the sea. A rare sight indeed.

This video shows a humpback whale mother cow swimming with a calf. It shows an adult 40 ton whale on its back, slapping both its left and right fins on the water, then leaping entirely out of the water! It seems that never before has a recording been made of an adult humpback whale leaping entirely out of the water! A very rare event, indeed.
