Satellite Footage of Ten Years of Weather History

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has released a video showing weather footage of the Southern Hemisphere from the past ten years captured with the recently decommissioned GOES-12 satellite. The animation’s 3,641 images — captured between April 2003 and August 2013 — show major weather events from the past decade like hurricanes Katrina and Sandy.
