Researchers at the University of California San Diego have created a telescopic contact lens that allows wearers to magnify their vision up to 2.8 times, effectively giving them “Superman-like eagle-eye vision.” Users see normally through the 1.17mm telescopic contacts, but can also put on a pair of polarized 3D glasses to bounce the light off four aluminum mirrors around the outside edge of the contact lens, thus magnifying the image.
