Rescued Baby Deer Is Reluctant to Leave the Side of the Compassionate Human Who Saved Her

A compassionate photographer named Darius Sasnauskas rescued a young fawn who had been abandoned by her mother in his backyard due to a broken leg and an inability to keep up. Sa nursed the little deer back to health and made her part of the family – one of Sa’s dogs particularly loved her. When he went to release her back into the wild the first time, she refused to go, snuggling close to Sa’s side even in the presence of other deer, so they went home together that night. Eventually, the fawn rejoined her deer family and Sa still sees them from time to time.

A deer doe abandoned one of her twin fawns, the fawn had injured leg and could not keep up with the mother. I do not support keeping wild animals as pets, but this was a special situation. The baby deer was healed and released back to her real mother. Update: The doe and two her fawns are still around, we see them through the summer and the autumn.
