Two members of the political punk rock band Pussy Riot, Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alyokhina, were guests on The Colbert Report last night, their first American television appearance after spending two years in prison for pre-meditated hoolaganism. Through a translator both Nadya and Masha spoke about the circumstances of their arrest, their views on Putin, the lack of gay rights, the conditions of the Russian penal system. Towards the end of the interview Nadya agreed to let Stephen join Pussy Riot when he inquired.
