Paul Addis Takes Gonzo to Seattle and Los Angeles

Gonzo, A Brutal Chrysalis

Paul Addis (yes that Paul Addis) is bringing Gonzo, A Brutal Chrysalis, his brilliant one-man Hunter S. Thompson performance, to Seattle and Los Angeles for a series of shows. In Seattle, it will be running September 20th-22nd, September 27th-29th and October 4th-6th at the Capitol Hill Arts Center. Then it will be heading down to Los Angeles for a long run at The Whitmore-Lindley Theater, October 12th-14th, 19th-21st and 27th-28th. Advance tickets are now on sale.

Gonzo, a Brutal Chrysalis presents the life of Hunter S. Thompson during the critical and catalytic years between 1968 and 1971. Set in the writing den of Thompson’s Woody Creek home, the full scope and horror at work in the motivations behind the man–who would become the most widely feared and relentless gonzo patriot of his generation–take life. For anyone who has wondered what on this green Earth could have possibly created the savage and terrible force of nature that was Doctor Gonzo, your answer is at hand. This is an unvarnished and frightfully personal look into a mind so furious that it could have only ended in victory or death, every single time.

If you are in Seattle or Los Angeles, I highly recommend checking out the show.

In March I shot some photos at the last performance of Gonzo in San Francisco.

While you are at it, check out the great trailer for Gonzo, A Brutal Chrysalis.

UPDATE 1: The September 20th-22nd and 27th-29th shows have been moved to the Capitol Hill Arts Center.

UPDATE 2: We just got word that all upcoming shows have been canceled.

Here’s the message that was sent to ticket holders on September 26th:

We deeply regret that we have been forced to cancel all upcoming shows of Gonzo, A Brutal Chrysalis, due to the actor’s illness. Brown Paper Tickets will be refunding your tickets directly.

We hope to be able to resume the run of the show when he recovers and will post updated information on our website.
