NYC Street Artist Ricky Syers Opens Up About His Love of Puppeteering in ‘No Your City’ Documentary Series

In a recent episode of the documentary video series “No Your City,” filmmaker Nicholas Heller focused his camera on the wonderful New York City street artist Ricky Syers (previously), who readily opened up about his love of puppeteering and how he found it to be the only thing he ever wants to do.

The marionettes keep everyone around me 8-years old again. I gotta be honest with you, I don’t think I have gone through or will go through a mid-life crisis. …Life hasn’t changed for me since I’ve been a kid. I see myself doing this the rest of my life man. Did you know out I can never go back to work as a laborer and you know, pulling concrete. I realized all these years, I’ve been an artist trying to be a laborer not a laborer trying to be an artist, so I’ll never go to work for a, you know, a normal job again here. I can always make enough money to eat every day.
