‘No One Teaches You How To Be An Artist’, Jason Freeny Dissects His Unique Art Career

Nuvango Gallery has released “No One Teaches You How To Be An Artist,” a video interview with skilled New York artist Jason Freeny (previously). The interview, which is part of Nuvango Gallery’s ongoing video series, dissects Freeny’s unique art career and series of anatomical sculptures. More about his background and creative portfolio is available to view on Nuvango.com.

Jason Freeny has your back. He’s also got your lower intestine, your spleen and quite possibly your eyeball. His deft sculpting fingers are just waiting to rip a well known and beloved toy limb from limb, in the name of his particular brand of Art-meets-Science. In the third installment of our ongoing video series, we were lucky enough to hang out with Jason while he performed his “plastic surgery” and divulged a few secrets behind his unique craft.

Apparently, we’re not the only ones who appreciate Jason’s gnarly craft. He recently took home 3 statues at the Designer Toy Awards earlier this month, including Fan Choice for Artist of the Year and Custom Toy of the Year for his Papa Smurf.
