Mashable posted newfound footage of aviator Amelia Earhart shows the doomed pioneer smiling and posing for a portrait session alongside her Electra 10E airplane in Burbank, California in May 1937. The film was most likely recorded by John Bresnik, the brother of Earhart’s personal photographer. After Bresnik passed away, his son viewed the film and gave it to The Paragon Agency. The book Amelia Earhart’s Last Photo Shoot by Nicole Swinford tells more about the film.
This photo shoot takes place at the end of May just before Earhart and Noonan leave for the second time — on The Last Flight. This is not however, the only reveal of the film. Here we are also able to see clear and close-up shots of Amelia’s plane — looking significantly different than in the pictures taken during her Last Flight.
Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean on July 2, 1937 while attempting to circumnavigate the globe by flight.
