New York City Oenophile Turns His Lower East Side Apartment Into a Functioning Winery

Winery

Oenophile Matt Baldassano and the Village Winery Club have made his tiny Alphabet City apartment into a functioning winery. Membership to the club is available during the “…time or season based with Spring and Fall Vintages harvested each year taking 10-18 months to mature.”

The VWC is an Urban Winery located in the heart of Alphabet City in the East Village of Manhattan. The club operates as a Micro-Winery focused on the education and experience of small production, hand-made wine that you can call your own. … The club’s existence revolves around the participation of its members to ensure the highest quality small production wine that can be made in a 1 bedroom apartment.

Baldassano was recently profiled in a video by NYorkers.
