Enhanced Color Image of Charon

NASA has released beautiful enhanced color images of Pluto‘s moon Charon taking during the New Horizon mission’s closest approach to the Pluto system on July 14, 2015. The images combine red, blue, and infrared images taken by the New Horizon’s Ralph/Multispectral Visual Imaging Camera (MVIC) and show a much greater variety of surface features than scientists were anticipating.
