NailO, A Customizable Thumbnail Trackpad for Interacting With Digital Devices

NailO is a small, customizable trackpad that is worn on the thumbnail and can be used to interact with a wide range of digital devices like phones, tablets, and computers. It was developed by students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who have detailed their prototype in a paper they presented at the Association for Computing Machinery’s Computer-Human Interaction conference recently held in Seoul, South Korea.

While the team has demonstrated that the prototype works, they do hope to make future versions smaller and thinner by fitting all the electronics onto a single chip, and more stylish by utilizing customizable top layers, similar to a nail art sticker.
