MTV to Launch Classic Channel With Programming From the 80s, 90s and 00s on Its 35th Anniversary

“You’ll never look at music the same way again”

MTV/Viacom recently announced that they would be rebranding the VH-1 Classic channel as MTV Classic as of August 1, 2016, the 35th anniversary of their original launch in 1981. The new channel would focus on the music, live performances and programming from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, including MTV Unplugged, Storytellers, Total Request Live/TRL, Daria, Beavis & Butt-head, Headbangers Ball, Aeon Flux, Run’s House, Pimp My Ride, Cribs, Jackass, Punk’d and The Real World weekend marathons. Expect lots of big hair, acid washed denim, pink lipstick and flannel shirts.
