Microsoft Announces the Surface Pro 3 Tablet

Microsoft today announced the new Surface Pro 3 tablet, successor to 2013’s Surface Pro 2, featuring a 12-inch display, 4th-generation Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processors, up to 8GB of RAM, and a new continuous kickstand.

The Surface Pro 3 also includes a USB 3.0 port, a Mini DisplayPort for external displays, and a microSD card reader. The device weighs in at 1.76 pounds and measures 0.36 inches thick. The battery life on the Surface Pro 3 is now up to 9 hours, which is ten percent better than its predecessor. The Surface Pro 3 is scheduled to become available for pre-order tomorrow, May 21st, through Microsoft’s website and other select retailers.
