The North Korean Arirang Festival (aka the Mass Games) is the world’s largest choreographed event with up to 100,000 participants. The annual festival features an epic “human billboard,” which is composed of twenty to thirty thousand children holding up colored paper cards that form massive mosaics of North Korean imagery (see a video of the billboard by Rjayboxing). German director Werner Kranwetvogel photographed the event and the mosaics for his photo book A Night in Pyongyang. The photos are also available as prints.
