Muni Diaries posted this cute video of a Caltrain rider named Aaron Joseph proposing to Maggie, his longtime girlfriend who he met four years ago on the commuter rail. He surprised her by gathering an entire car full of friends and family and, then, when she boarded the train, they all sang Fun.’s hit song We Are Young as he bent down on one knee to pop the question.
Maggie and I met in 2008 about 4 years ago coincidentally running into each other on the Caltrain. We chatted for about an hour as I was on my way to a concert and she was on her way to work. We hit it off and started a great relationship! I owe a lot of my success today to Maggie and her love has fostered our relationship into a beautiful thing that I love and cherish every day. I love Maggie and I wanted to make her the happiest girl in the world and this meant I had to do something extra special for her.
After a month of scheming and trying to come up with an innocuous excuse for Maggie to ride on Caltrain, she decided to have a “Craft Day” with her painting buddies. Little did she know we had crafted another plan…
I had assembled friends and family to help celebrate my proposal to Maggie on Caltrain. At the 22nd St San Francisco station, we all began to sing “We Are Young” by Fun as Maggie boarded the car and was blown away. The rest is history..
