Man Has Disabled Hand Amputated and Replaced with Bionic Prosthetic

Bionic Reconstruction

Earlier this year, an Austrian man named Milo chose to have his permanently injured hand amputated and replaced by a bionic one. His procedure is only the second “bionic reconstruction” surgery to-date (both were hand replacements). The procedures were performed by Professor Oskar Aszmann of the Medical University of Vienna, using bionic hands built by the Otto Bock company, a prosthetics specialist.
