Jim Parsons Sings ‘I’m Not That Guy’ (Sheldon Cooper) During His ‘Saturday Night Live’ Monologue

“We’ve done seven seasons of my show The Big Bang Theory, and when you’ve done that many shows I find that people have a difficult time separating you from your character.”

During his most recent stint as guest host of Saturday Night Live, actor Jim Parsons explained that he is often confused with Sheldon Cooper, the character he plays on The Big Bang Theory. That led into a catchy musical number lamenting that “I’m Not That Guy” and included such characters as Urkle (Jaleel White) from Family Matters, George Costanza (Jason Alexander) from Seinfeld, Fonzie (Henry Winkler) from Happy Days, Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) from Murder, She Wrote and Bill Cosby, all with a similar lament.

We’re not just some creation that you saw in syndication. So it really would be super if you didn’t call me Sheldon Cooper”
