Irving Harper: Works in Paper, Art Book Surveys the Paper Sculpture of a Modernist Designer

Irving Harper: Works in Paper

Irving Harper: Works in Paper is an art book that documents the intricate paper sculptures of modernist designer Irving Harper. Harper was a prolific industrial designer for furniture company Herman Miller during the height of mid-century Modernism. Starting in 1964, Harper began making paper sculptures in his free time as a stress-relieving hobby. He now has around 500 paper sculptures filling his home in Rye, New York. Irving Harper: Works in Paper was edited by Michael Maharam. We previously wrote about a Herman Miller short documentary on Harper’s paper sculptures.
