‘Inside Nature’s Giants: The Giant Squid’, A Film About the Elusive Deep Sea Cephalopod

In an hour-long episode of the documentary series Inside Nature’s Giants, PBS takes a look at the giant squid, a massive deep sea cephalopod believed to be one of the largest invertebrates on Earth. In the documentary, a team of scientists are afforded the rare opportunity to dissect a specimen.

They learn that it has a razor sharp beak, teeth on its tentacles and tongue, a throat that dives through the middle of its brain and three hearts that power blue blood through a muscle filled jet-propulsion cloak
